A film about the sins of Poland’s dominant church drew almost a million viewers on its opening weekend, more than the last Star Wars. At the same time the local Christian school takes bookings two years ahead and places at summer camps go within days. That contrast opens a sermon about the first chapter of Titus (Titus 1). The church has no good press today, but people have not stopped looking for God and for community, so instead of enjoying somebody else’s failings it is worth asking whether this is not in fact a good time. Listen if you are embarrassed to tell friends that you go to church.
