A father stands outside a block of flats in a strange city, watching his son walk toward the door, knowing he cannot follow him any further. That image opens a reflection on Jesus’ last evening with his disciples, when he tells them before parting: I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14). The sermon presents Jesus as the road to the Father and as the image of the Father, along with the promise of the Holy Spirit, who would be with the disciples once Jesus himself was gone. Listen if you are going through a season of uncertainty and need to hear the words: do not be afraid.

The Last Supper: A Meal Like No Other
The Last Supper was a special meal that Jesus shared with his disciples just before his death. That supper was filled with emotion and symbolic gestures. Many important words were spoken then. Jesus was preparing his disciples for his departure. He wanted to help them find their way in a world where, although he would no longer be physically present, he would still be with them.
