A hospital photograph: an emaciated man the doctors gave no chance of surviving. A few years later it was shown next to a picture of his own rented flat, one of the stories that make up the second part of this service on the slow work of God. There are also prayer workshops, concerts inside a remand prison, and a twenty-year-old singer, all held together by Paul’s words: he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1).
