True Freedom

The Warsaw Courier of the eleventh of November nineteen eighteen reported Piłsudski’s return and the crowds beneath the balcony on Moniuszki street. After a hundred and twenty years people believed that things simply had to be good now, and twenty one years later the country was under occupation again. That memory opens a sermon about Jesus talking with people who considered themselves free (John 8). Jesus moves the conversation about freedom from the outward to the inward and says that everyone who sins is a slave to sin, and that only the Son sets people free.
