With this question the sermon takes us to chapter 20 of the Apocalypse (Revelation 20), where John shows the dragon bound, thrones prepared for the faithful, and the judgment before the great white throne. This vision was written not to frighten but to comfort: Satan has already lost, and God is the Lord of history who has prepared a place at his side for those who endure. Christmas is getting closer! Once again, we can reflect on that extraordinary event when God became human and came into this world as a baby in a small town called Bethlehem. God not only entered our history, but He promised to do so again. Therefore, as we commemorate Jesus’ first coming into the world, we want to continue our journey through the Book of Revelation to prepare for His second coming.
