Years later a man tracked down a Mr Ryszard in order to pay him back for the fuel he used to siphon out of the company van. Nobody suspected anything and nobody was demanding it, but being reconciled to God had changed his conscience. That story opens a sermon about the fifth chapter of Romans (Romans 5). Paul writes there that having been justified by faith we have peace with God, and that peace does not stay shut inside the heart but works its way outwards and sorts out our relationships with people.
