A boy was digging a hole in the garden big enough for a dog, and what he was burying was a goldfish. Asked why so deep, he explained that the fish was inside his friend’s shoe box. That story opens a sermon about the question John the Baptist sent from prison (Matthew 11). The man who had earlier pointed to Jesus now asks whether it really is him, and Jesus does not rebuke him for doubting but points him to what can be seen and heard. Listen if you have questions you are afraid to ask in church.

Why Me?
In life, we go through various experiences and feel all kinds of emotions. Sometimes it seems like no one understands us, because we’re the only ones struggling with them. Sometimes we also ask ourselves, “Why me?” However, when we turn to the Bible, we can view our struggles from a different perspective. What’s more, we discover that our experiences are nothing new, because many people before us have gone through them, and many Christians are going through them right now-we are not alone.
