What do you do when the good life costs you more and more and gives back less and less, more exhaustion, less joy? That is exactly what the Israelites returning from exile were living through when the prophet Haggai gave them a blunt diagnosis: you sow much and harvest little, you earn wages only to put them in a bag with holes (Haggai 1). This sermon shows that their problem was neither laziness nor lack of resources, but what had quietly slipped from the centre of their lives to the margin. Listen, and ask what your own life is really revolving around.

The Time of the Prophets
In the whirlwind of everyday life, it’s easy to forget that we live in God’s presence and that we are accountable to Him for our choices. That’s why, sometimes, God has to step into our world to remind us of this. In the Old Testament, He did this through the prophets, who were His voice to the people. Although their books were written centuries ago, their voice still rings out clearly and is astonishingly relevant to us today as well. We, too, have similar questions and face similar challenges. So let’s listen to what God is saying to us through His prophets known as the “minor prophets.” They were called this not because they were less important, but simply because their books were shorter. Short and very timely.
