I Am What I Am?

Tomaszów Maz. Rafał Piekarski 29.09.2024 Sermon 9 of 17

How many times have you said about yourself: I am what I am, and concluded that nothing will ever change? This sermon shows that beneath those seemingly defiant words lies helplessness, and that on the lips of a follower of Christ they contradict the very heart of the good news. Working through the sixth chapter of Romans (Romans 6), the speaker distinguishes being safely moored in harbour from the refit that must follow, and points to the practices that train us for the marathon of faith. Listen if you want to trade resignation for the hope of who you might yet become.

You've Got a Message

We live in a world filled with news, most of which adds nothing positive to our lives. It only stirs up anxiety and robs us of hope. Other news is fake news, which presents a distorted picture of reality and causes confusion. That is why we all need to hear this one true message about who we are, what our problem is, and what the solution is. In his Letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul has just such a message for us and answers our most important questions. This letter is the most complete explanation of the gospel-that is, the good news from God Himself.
