In kindergarten Johnny only stayed till noon, so on his first day of first grade he started packing his bag at twelve. When the teacher explained that he now stays the whole day, he put his hands on his hips and asked who on earth had signed him up for this programme. That story opens a sermon about the first chapter of James (James 1). James tells us to count it joy when trials come, because they are what produces perseverance, and that is probably the only gift nobody wants to receive. Listen if you are at a point where the easiest thing would be to give up.
