A mother in a shop queue patiently calms her wailing little girl, until it turns out that the name she keeps repeating does not belong to the child at all. That scene opens a reflection on self-control, which Paul lists alongside power and love (2 Timothy 1), and leads us into the story of Samson (Judges 13-16), a man given everything, who lacked one thing. There Is Power
Everyone would like to be able to love more deeply, enjoy life more fully, live more peacefully, and show more patience, kindness, and self-control. That’s a better way to live, because character matters more than abilities. Such a life is also possible thanks to the work of the Holy Spirit, who transforms us from within in a way that is visible on the outside. THERE IS POWER to change!
