Where are we eating today? A question from a family trip turns out to be one of life’s most serious ones, because in the book of Proverbs two women set a table: Lady Wisdom and Lady Folly (Proverbs 9). The sermon shows that the direction of a life is set not by grand resolutions but by the sum of small daily choices, and that even Solomon eventually moved to the wrong house. Instead of asking whether something is permitted, learn to ask whether it is wise. Listen, and consider whose table you sit at most often.
