Glenn was the biggest gangster in Savannah, did time for robbery and drugs, and today runs an open house for children from broken families together with his wife. Nobody meeting him now would guess that past. That story opens a sermon about the eleventh chapter of Isaiah (Isaiah 11). The prophet sees a shoot growing from the stump of Jesse and a world in which the wolf lives with the lamb, and that is not a fairy tale but the announcement of an order that began with the coming of Christ. Turning Point
When we get stuck somewhere on our journey through life, we eventually realize that we need a turning point and a fresh start because we cannot cope on our own with the problems that have befallen us. Jesus Christ is that turning point. His coming changed the course of world history and marked the beginning of a New Era. That is why He alone can change the course of every person’s life and open a new chapter in their life. A turning point lies ahead of us.
