Jesus, the God Who Comes Close

Łódź Szymon Karkowski 14.03.2021 Sermon 4 of 11

Does your life have any meaning if it ends in death anyway? That question drove Leo Tolstoy to the edge of despair, and the second chapter of Hebrews answers it (Hebrews 2): the great God was made lower than the angels for a while, in order to die as a human being. The sermon speaks of a God who does not merely look down on us but comes down to us, and of freedom from a fear that steers our lives more often than we admit. Listen and see how close God is willing to come.

The Best

Sometimes, when life gets tough and God seems silent, we wonder if our faith makes sense and if it might be worth looking for something better. The readers of the Letter to the Hebrews faced similar questions. Its author, however, shows that Jesus is greater and more wonderful than anything they had previously considered important. That’s why we have a teaching series ahead of us based on this fascinating Letter, through which we can discover that Jesus is simply THE BEST!
