This sermon reads the seven trumpets of Revelation (Revelation 8-11) as God’s alarms meant to wake the world, and recalls the Church’s mission: first feed on the Word, then warn others. It tells the story of missionary Jim Elliot and of a ten-year-old girl who recognised the coming tsunami and saved more than a hundred people. Listen before the next alarm fades away unnoticed.

Before It Comes
The Book of Revelation stirs up strong emotions. However, contrary to popular belief, it does not contain a coded blueprint for the future, but rather changes our perspective on the present. It speaks of the problems and challenges that Christians have faced throughout history-and that we, too, are facing. And all of this is so that, as we go through life, we may prepare ourselves each day for the second coming of Jesus.
