What do you do when someone next to you falls, pretend not to notice, or tell the truth and risk the relationship? This sermon unpacks into five concrete responsibilities what the apostle Paul writes about life together: restoring gently, carrying one another’s burdens, supporting those who teach, sowing to the Spirit, and never tiring of doing good (Galatians 6). There is room here for setting a broken bone, for patiently mending nets, and for the reminder that each of us still carries part of our own load. Listen if you want your community to be a place of truth and grace at the same time.
Take Responsibility for Others
Responsible
Andy Stanley once said, “Your lack of responsibility will eventually become someone else’s responsibility.” In other words, if you don’t take responsibility for what has been entrusted to you, someone else will have to take that responsibility for you. A wise life is one in which we don’t shift the blame onto others but face challenges head-on; we don’t burden others with the need to hold our hands, but instead become a source of support for others ourselves.
