The Jesus Who Breaks the Rules

Tomaszów Maz. Rafał Piekarski 04.08.2019 Sermon 1 of 4

When a mysterious professor in a white coat appeared in the doorway at a summer camp, carrying a suitcase full of curious objects, the children knew at once: nothing would be the same again. Because the new arrives unexpectedly, and when it comes, the old must go. This sermon walks us through the Gospel of Mark (Mark 2-3), where Jesus breaks the religious rules: he sits at the table with Levi the tax collector, lets his disciples pick heads of grain on the Sabbath, and heals before the eyes of indignant Pharisees. Listen and ask yourself whether there is still room for God himself in your religion.

Encounters with Jesus

There are encounters that change our lives. Suddenly, we begin to see the world differently. We find answers to our questions and doubts. We experience encouragement and comfort in difficult moments. We discover that we are not alone. If encounters with ordinary people can have such an impact on our lives, how much more could it change if… we met Jesus?
