An American missionary in Poland read a notice at the nursery school and spent the whole night sewing her son a sunflower costume. The next day it turned out the children had been asked to bring sunglasses, and her son was the only sunflower in the room. That story opens a sermon about the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida (Mark 8). Jesus touches him twice, because after the first touch the man sees people like walking trees, and it is the only account of its kind in the Gospels, showing that understanding comes in stages. Listen if you are praying for someone who has not got it for years.
