Where does your freedom really end, and is every right you are entitled to actually worth enforcing? In 1 Corinthians (1 Corinthians 10) the apostle Paul answers with the image of a runner who voluntarily gives up privileges to win the prize, and with the warning of the Israelites, who never reached the goal of their journey. The sermon shows that freedom ends where my life hinders the gospel from reaching others, and that the greatest privilege can be giving up a privilege, following the example of Christ. Listen before you stand up for your rights one more time.
Where Does My Freedom Really End?
(Im)perfect
Sometimes we feel like we don’t belong in church because we’re not perfect. Other times, the imperfections of others-their sins and failures-make us prefer to stay away from a church that’s so far from perfect. However, 1 Corinthians shows us how, even while being imperfect ourselves, we can find our place among other imperfect people in the Church, which is both perfect and imperfect at the same time. 1 Corinthians is life itself, but life seen from the perspective of what God can do with it and how He can change it.
