How can you not see it, says a wife to her husband, who has once again spoken to her in front of other people in a way that shamed her and has not noticed a thing. The same sentence passes between friends, and between a parent and a growing child. That refrain opens a sermon about the royal official from Capernaum (John 4). The man asked for his son’s healing, was given only the words your son lives, and had to believe before he saw anything, because some things simply cannot be seen without faith. Listen if you keep telling God you will believe once you finally see.
