A pastor in Montana finally had a few quiet days with his family, and by evening he was hearing in hospital the sentence no parent wants to hear: we did everything we could, but it was not enough. His five year old daughter had died after an asthma attack. That story opens a sermon about the raising of Lazarus (John 11). Jesus knew his friend was ill and delayed anyway, and at the tomb he first wept together with the sisters and only then showed that he is greater than death.
