On a Korean map of the world Asia sits at the centre, on an American one it is America, and each of us carries an inner map with ourselves at the centre of the universe. This sermon on money takes us to Corinth, where the apostle Paul urges a wealthy community to move from good intentions to action and support the poor (2 Corinthians 8-9). It turns out the measure of generosity is not percentages but God’s generosity towards us and the joy of a heart that gives without compulsion. Grateful and Generous
Gratitude and generosity are inseparable. Happy people are usually those who are grateful for what they have. And the more grateful we are and the more we rejoice in what we have received, the more we want to share with others so that they, too, may experience that joy. So how can gratitude and generosity manifest themselves in different areas of our lives? We’ll explore this in a series of sermons titled “Grateful and Generous.”
