Hindus travel hundreds of kilometres to bathe in the Ganges, fans go to conventions, and Christians spend their last money to touch a stone in the Holy Land. We long for the extraordinary and are ready to look for it anywhere. That observation opens a sermon about the sixth chapter of John (John 6). The crowd followed Jesus because they had seen signs and wanted more, and he said of himself: I am the bread of life, and after those words most of them left. Listen if you are looking for a miracle when you could receive something far greater.
