Of the seven wonders of the ancient world one survives, and even that is slowly crumbling. We keep making lists of wonders because we want to touch something greater than ourselves, except that in the New Testament a miracle means something quite different. That observation opens a sermon about the morning of the resurrection and about Thomas, who wanted to touch (John 20). The risen Christ stands among frightened people and says peace be with you, do not be afraid, and that one miracle is still changing lives two thousand years later. Listen if you need something stronger than a festive mood.

Miracles have fascinated and captivated people for centuries-whether they were architectural wonders, natural wonders, or supernatural phenomena.
